Where to start?
Questions abound after seeing Tower Roasters for the first time. What are you? How did this start? Can you roast enough?
This all evolved from a desire to have more flavorful coffee. Fortunately, in and around Chicago there are a number of wonderful coffee roasters. They are all focused on roasting coffee where you taste the flavor from the bean unique to the region of origin.
The difference here? Tower wants to roast to order. This makes your beans as fresh as possible. Shelf life of beans has a dramatic effect on the flavor - something that coffee, like wine, should be brewed for.
We roast small batches. We order organic coffee whenever available and that is our preference - so many products in our society are laced with chemicals and you shouldn’t be drinking that. More importantly, we strive to obtain coffee from farmers without having a number of ‘middlemen’ taking farmers profits away.
We’ll get into the process of how our coffee is sourced (from suppliers with boots on the ground) to how the coffee is processed and how we roast it. For now look around and see what is offered - we’ll be offering special varieties that will be very limited and mostly ‘one-time’ roasts. We will also have seasonal offerings and the occasional ‘this may be around for 3 weeks’ kind of roast.
If you are curious, shoot me a note. For now, give Block A, East Hinsdale or Lightning Strike a try - I know you’ll love it.
